Lamu Palace Hotel was built in 1991-1992 by a Swiss entrepreneur. The building itself resembles a palace with its large open spaces and tall handsome pillars forming arches. Lamu Palace hotel is located on the seafront which means there is always good sea breeze our guests can enjoy.

The house has a total of 21 rooms and suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, equipped with fans, A/C’s and mosquito nets. The suites additionally provide mini bar, satellite TV, tea & coffee making facilities and 24 hours room service. All rooms are furnished and decorated in antique Lamu style.

Palace Restaurant offers a wide variety of African and international cuisine. It is the only restaurant in Lamu serving Japanese Tepanyaki and Italian Pizza. Its terrace overlooks the Indian Ocean, the lounge bar with its relaxing ambiance is perfect for after dinner drinks, watching news or football and smoking the shisha.

Hotel facilities include a massage parlour, laundry service, shuttle bus service, internet service, boat hire and an on call doctor.

For sports & leisure beach walks, a town tour, fishing, sailing, sundowner dhow trips and donkey rides can be organized.
