Petleys Inn is the oldest hotel in East Africa dating back some 170 years. And because of the rich history we have tried to preserve the original ancient feeling of the place. Petleys is situated by the main jetty on the sea front as you disembark from the dhows, with a fantastic view of the sea to the Lamu pre-historic site.

The house has 11 rooms and 1 penthouse, all with en-suite bathrooms, fans, A/C’s and mosquito nets. Furniture and decorations are held in antique Lamu style.

Located under the huge makuti roof, the famous rooftop lounge/bar invites to chill with a cold drink.

Beach walks, a town tour, fishing, sailing, sundowner dhow trips and donkey rides can be organized.
